An Afternoon with NiT

March was the month we had the pleasure of welcoming NiT to our space. A short and sweet conversation with the well-known Portuguese online magazine gave us the opportunity to share a little bit more about who we are and connect with a new audience.

In this interview, Maria Manuel Lacerda, the curator of ICON Shop, spoke about the project's origins and intentions, our commitment to supporting contemporary Portuguese artists by connecting them with their ideal audience through pop-ups, exhibitions, and other events.

Maria also shared how she carefully selects the art pieces that end up being a part of ICON's collection, how she visits the artists' studios, handpicks each piece in many different art disciplines, such as ceramics, painting, drawing, jewellery, woodwork, and textiles, ending up with a rich catalogue and representing more than 70 Portuguese artists.

Over the nearly 10-year lifespan of this project, ICON has evolved into a solid place to discovering, sharing, and experiencing art - or to simply meet extraordinary people.
