A Galaricha
Ceramics
A Galaricha was born in 1986 and studied Arts and Design in Almada and Lisbon. However, it was only in 2023 that she rediscovered her desire to return to clay and sculpture.
That same year, in Nisa, she began exploring olaria pedrada, a traditional pottery technique from the region, deepening her connection with clay and traditional craftsmanship.
In 2024, she moved to Caldas da Rainha, where she enrolled in the Ceramics course at CENCAL. With a strong fascination for craftsmanship and traditional techniques, she explores the application of processes associated with wood carving in the creation of functional clay sculptures, bringing together different languages and materials.
Alongside this, she is developing a series of masks inspired by the imagery of world folklore and the study of human microexpressions, exploring form, identity, and emotion through matter.
